Shehjaar Carnival:

Completed Project

This mega event was first conducted by the Foundation in October at Tagore hall Srinagar. The whole state had never witnessed such a mesmerising and colorful event which was given the name as, “Shehjaar Carnival – 2004”. About 25000 entries in the event were reported. The Children enacted in Kashmiri folk songs, Street Plays, Painting competition, Singing competition, Sufiana music, and many other items in dogri and pahari. In the premises, a number of different stalls were installed like Food World, Music World, Fun World, Books Stall and Exhibition of items of Shehjaar craft centre, sale counters of Shehjaar food item stall and other craft item stall. On 20th May, 2009 HELP Foundation in partnership with RGF has released a book titled “Discovering Kashmir” which was the part of the workshop/Project discovering Srinagar. In this event, 2 other books were also released namely “CHALAK GAGUR and DANA TSER”. The eminent personalities which were present in this occasion were Mr. N N Vohra (Governor J&K State), Mr. Peerzada Mohammad Syeed (Education Minister), Secretary RGF, Secretary Education J&K State, Director Doordarshan Srinagar, Chairman Public Service Commission and almost 500 school children from all over the valley.
